    Khrushchev insisted the U.S. to end its military deployment in west Berlin and the U.S. refused. Khrushcheve built the Berlin wall to seperate East from West. As a result, the U.S. deployed 1,500 more U.S soldiers to West Berlin

    CIA was trying to overthrow Fidel Castro and the mission was failed. This led to the anti-America emotion in Cuba.
  • Cuban Missile Crisis

    Cuban Missile Crisis
    U.S. intelligence agents noticed that Soviet Union tried to install missile in Cuba which can target most major cities in the U.S. The U.S. blocked the Cuba ships from receiving the missiles at the meantime removing its missiles from Italy and Turkey. Soviet Union then removed its missiles from Cuba.

    It is an agreement that limits the U.S., Soviet Union, Great Britain and other 36 countries from aboveground nuclear testing.
  • Gulf of Tonkin Resolution

    Gulf of Tonkin Resolution
    North Vietnam attacked an American destroyer in the Gulf of Tonkin. Then, Johnson asked the Congress to authorize the use of U.S. force to defend U.S. troops. The Congress consented and Johnson was then able to fight against North Vietnamese without declaring war against North Vietnam.
