    Russian Revolution
    The Russian Revolution was a result of the peasants and working-class people of Russia revolting against the government of Tsar Nicholas II. This is significant because the revolutions lead to the rise and the creation of a newly communist government called the Soviet Union.
  • Potsdam Conference

    Potsdam Conference
    Truman and Churchill were on one side of the divide determined to secure political freedom and democratic government throughout postwar Europe. Their partner the dictator of the Soviet Union had other plans he was determined to dominate all of Europe and improve communism on its nations. Discussed the control of defeated Germany, post-war boundaries, defeating japan and lastly securing peace within Europe. This is important because this conference helped set the stage for the cold war.

    During the end of WWII Europe was divided into two separate areas, Which became known as the Iron Curtain. This was siginifiact because it showed the effort by the Soviet Union to block itselfs from the west.

The Hollywood 10 exercised there 1st and 5th amendment in which they were allowed to refuse to answer the questions. One was convicted of contempt of Congress, while others were sent to prison. Many were blacklisted and would never work in Hollywood again, others even left the country. This was significant

    President Truman declared a Doctrine that gave economic and military aid to the governments of Greece and Turkey. This was significant because it helped Greece and Turkey become independent countries.

    A Program if massive economic assistance that was directed towards hunger, poverty, desperation, and chaos against any country or doctrine. This was significant because the Marshall plan gave a helping hand in making many countries independent.

    Due to America reintrodcing a new currency in Germany. Stalin became angry so the cut off Berlin from the world. Stalin shut down railroads, turned of the power, stopped ships and coal factiores. The soviet Union didnt want Germany to be a free and Indepentant country. This is significant because it showed how ruthless and careless the Soviet union was.

ORT was authorized by the president which sustained the bombing of Turks-in (North Vietnam). This was significant because it showed America's near-total air supremacy during the Vietnam War

    The Tet offensive was when the North Vietnamese army and the Viet Cong attacked South Vietnam at the same time. They took every major Southern city; 67,000 men attacked, 100 cities, bases and the U.S embassy in Saigon. However, the U.S and ARVN beat back the offensive. This was significant because the Viet Cong were destroyed and the North Vietnamese army was debilitated, and also it was seen as an American defeat by the media.

    On May 4, 1970, the Ohio National Guard at Kent State University, shoot unarmed students, 4 of those students were killed and wounded 9. The shootings took place during a massive protest against the bombing of Cambodia by the United States Military Forces. Twenty-eight guardsmen fired approximately 67 rounds over a period of 13 seconds. This was significant because it caused a national response to the shootings: hundreds of universities, colleges, and high schools closed in protest.
