    China become Communist
    During the Chinese revolution the Nationalist party was highly favored by other countries including money gifts and military advisors. Despite the Nationalists clearly having a better army they were weakened by early attacks by the Japanese and were eventually defeated by the communist party. This greatly affected the cold war becasue of such a huge country falling to communism was a loss for democracy.

    The Vietnam war was a war that America got invloved with solely with the priority to shut down communism from spreading throughtout the western countries and potentially to our ally Autralia. This war used a lot of Guerilla warfare, as the Vietcong set up dangerous booby traps, and the U.S. did their own dirty fighting using napalm bombs and agent orange chemicals.     Sputnik 1 was the satelite to be sent in to space from earth. Although it was so much more than that. The Sputnik was sent up by the Soviet Union in which they had beaten the U.S. in the first step of the space race. It porved the the Soviet Union had an upper hand in being a world super power over the United States.

    The Bay of Pigs Invasion was a failed military attempt of the attack on cuba that was funded by the CIA. A trained military of cuban deliquents is who took this task of invasion on but again failed miserably. The failed U.S. attack only strengthened Castros look and postition by showing the poeple how strong of a leader he is.     The Cuban Missle Crisis was a 13 day conflict in which took place between the United States and the Soviet Union. The united States was requesting that the Soviet Union remove the missles tha were pointed at teh U.S. from Cuba. This was the closest the the world has ever come to a full scale nuclear war that would've put the whole world in jeoprady. After long discussions and debates and agreement to remove all missles was reached between Kennedy and Krushchev. This was one of the biggest points

    U.S. first man on the moon
    The U.S. mayy have been losing the space race up to this point in the Cold War but no country had ever put a man on the moon before until this. This space mission was named Apollo 11 and sent astronauts Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong, and micheal Collins all up to the moon. The trip was very successful in which the men were both transported to hte moon safely and backdown to earth the next day safely by landing in the pacific ocean.

    The Olympic Baketball final of the 1972 games was one of the most contoversial games in history. The soviet union had beat teh U.S. for the first time since the sport had come to be. The soviets won the game on a very contoversial last play that sent many americans into anguish about the legitimaty of the last play. This was another big Superpower win for the Soviet Union as they had taken down the United States in their own game.

    On christmas day in 1991 11 of the 15 republics of the soviet union got together and decided to become their own independent states. The Soviet Union had fallen and was no longer. This officially put an end to the never ending cold war, and the Soviet Union was no longer a super power in the world nor a threat to the United States.
