The Truman Doctrine

His message, known as the Truman Doctrine, asked Congress for $400 million in military and economic assistance for Turkey and Greece in hopes to prevent communism spreading in Europe in these countries. -
The Marshall Plan
On April 3, 1948, President Truman signed the Economic Recovery Act of 1948. It became known as the Marshall Plan where the United States provided economic assistance to restore the economic infrastructure of post WWII Europe. -
NATO

The Gulf War, or Operation Desert Shield was an operation to lead troops into the first US led war against Iraq in the Persian Gulf on January 17, 1991. This war was set around a US military base in the country of Saudi Arabia where they fought off the Iraq forces invading Kuwait. -
