It was an American initiative to aid Europe, in which the United States gave $13 billion from 1948 to 1952 in economic support to help rebuild European economies after the end of World War II. Although the Soviet Union and communist Eastern Europe decline U.S. aid, citing "dollar enslavement."

Berlin Airlift
At the end of the Second World War, U.S., British, and Soviet military forces divided and occupied Germany. Also divided into occupation zones. British planes airlift 1.5 million tons of supplies to the residents of West Berlin. After 200,000 flights, the Soviet Union lifts the blockade.

Korean War
Communist China and the USSR gave aid, military support and weapons to support the North, NATO forces led by the U.S. pushed the North Koreans up to the Chinese borders. The war officially ended in 1953 with the nation split into North and South Korea at the 38th parallel as it was before the conflict. Communism did not spread. -

Cuban missile crisis
Summer 1962, the Soviet Union sent nuclear missiles into Cuba. US President John F. Kennedy demanded that the missiles be removed with the threat of war. October 28th, 1962, Khrushchev removed the missiles from Cuba. This meant Nuclear war was avoided.
