This was to help people prepare for the reconstruction of Europe. This allowed people to get help and be ready for what was to come.

    In october of 1962 president JFK notified americans about the presence of of missiles. In 1959 Fidel Castro aligned himself with the soviet union. Then later America’s spy plane made a pass over Russia´s sss-4 and all of this lead to a very intense standoff between the countries and the standoff lasted for 13 days. To end the standoff, Soviet leaders decided to dismantle their missiles in Cuba if the Americans removed their missile installations in Turkey.

The american and British decided not to finance Egypt’s construction like they said they would which led to a tense 13 day standoff between countries.
