Western allies responded to Soviet Union by organizing the Berlin Aircraft to get things to the people in western berlin.

    The Berlin Airlift was an event that followed the Berlin Blockade. As the germans were dividing up Berlin, the berlin airlift would help the hostages held in Berlin. In september 1947, the united states and great britain teamed up and combined their zones into one millitary providence called Bizonia. Their goal was to bring security back to the german people. Another zone was made up called Trizone and it was by France.

It was a war between the Republic Of Korea who were supported by the United Nations and The Democratic People's Republic Of Korea who were at one time supported by China and the Soviet Union. The east side of germany kept implying that the west germany wasn't completely de-nazified and they didn't want to associate with them.

    The Cuban Missile Crisis also known as the October Crisis was a thirteen day confrontation in october 1962 between Cuba and Soviet Union on side and the United States on the other. This crisis almost became a nuclear war . After the US had put nuclear missiles in Turkey and Italy and had a failed attempt to overthrow the cuban government, Nikita Krushchavez was the one who got the idea to put missles in Cuba. Nikita and Fidel Castro had agreed on it and the construction had begun.

It was ratified by the united states senate on May 27 1988. It is formerly titled as The Treaty Between the United States of America and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics on the Elimination of Their Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles.
  • MIkhail Gorbachev comes to power

    MIkhail Gorbachev comes to power
    Mikhail Gorbachev was born in Stavropol Krai into a peasant family. He graduated from Moscow State University in 1955 with a degree in law. While he was stil in college he joined the communist party and became active in the party. In 1970 he was made First Party Secretary of the Stavropol Kraikom. He was the seventh and last leader of the Soviet Union. His policies of openness and restructuing and meeting with president Ronald Reagan had helped end the Cold War.
  • U.S.S.R. Breakup

    In December 1991, the Soviet Union seperated into 15 different countries and everybody celebrated the victory that had come. Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev had resigned, declaring his office extinct, and handed over the Soviet nuclear missile launching codes to Russian President Boris Yeltsin. After that the Soviet flag was lowered down and replaced with the russian tricolor. The breaku of the state also marked an end to the Cold War.
