    Invented in 1947, they came up with this plan in Russia.

    It was founded on April 4th 1949 for a system of collective defense.
    Headquarters can be located in Belgium, Haren, Brussels
    NATO provided major frontline defense against the Soviet Union and its satellites in the Cold War.
    This defensive system protects it countries and their political beliefs according to their laws.

    Initiated by Northern Korea when the Soviet Union advised and supplied them as allies to invade Southern Korea due to conflict. It began on June 25,1950 and carried on for 3 years when both sides came to an armistice July 27,1953.It took place initially in Southern Korea then later to the North.The Korean war set the tone for the Cold War as it showed the potential superpowers between the United States and the Soviets .This war caused social damage to Korea from population loss.

    Death - On March 5th of 1953, when he had a cerebral hemorrhage that made him collapse in his own work office.
    Stalin's death temporarily put a pause in the cold war from all the tension.

    This treaty was made in 1955 to counterweight the NATO organization and its intimidating forces.

    Also known as the second Indochina war, was a war fought between both North and South Vietnam to stop communism from spreading all throughout South East Asia.
    It began on November 1st, 1955 and continued on for approximately 20 years when it ended on April 30th, 1975 due to the North victory. The war mainly took place in Vietnam, but was initiated in the South. The victory for communism gave a major blow to the U.S in the cold war. This impacted the freedom of Asia due to communism.

    The Northern American Aerospace Defense Command is a combined organization between the US and Canada that provides aerospace warnings, air sovereignty, and protection to the North.
    It was founded on May 12th, 1958 to provide air protection from any incoming threats. Headquarters can be located in El Paso near Colorado Springs, Colorado.

    This happened on April 17th,1961 and over the course of three days they recognized their failure.
    This took place on the Southwestern coast of Cuba.
    The unexpected results from the United States led to a potential nuclear threat from both sides.

    The Soviet/Afghan war was a conflict between the Mujahideen insurgent group who fought against the Soviet army for a nine year guerilla war. It began on December 24th, 1979 fighting throughout the 1980's when it came to an end on February 15th, 1989. This war took place mostly on the Afghan countryside. The withdrawal from the Soviets represented a victory to the US. This resulted to more freedom.
