Coco's Mother Passes Away
When Coco's mother died, her life made an unexpected 360 degree turn. After her mother died, Coco's father could no longer take care of Coco and her four other siblings. So, her father put them all in orphanages and from there Coco grew up in an all girl orphanage (Haedrich 12). -
Coco Goes to Notre Dame
She is sent to Notre Dame, in France, to finish school. Here she begins to sew and to sew cltohes for rag dolls. Coco then begins to develop a passion for sewing and dreams of becoming a fashion designer; this passion later turns to reality (Coco Chanel: The Legend and The Life). -
Gets First Job
Coco gets her first job as a tailor in a factory. She was a very hardworker and in the video, shes tells the interviewer that her favorite part about the job was when she saw the customers reaction to her work (Coco Chanel Interview Part I). -
Coco Opens her First Store
Coco Chanel opens her first ever store and this is where her famous logo with the two "C's" are released. With her hard work and passion for designing clothes she was able to save up money to open her first little boutique in France (Haedrich 40). -
The Famous Little Black Dress
The Little Black Dress was created today. After Coco's frist store became a hit, she was able to open many more because every women fell in love with her fashion sense and the elegance of her clothes. Later she created what is known as "The Little Black Dress". This was so famous because it was affordable, cute, and versatile (Coco Chanel 1969 Interview Part I). -
Goodbye Chanel Shops
Chanel closed all of her stores because she does not think it is an appropriate time to be selling and broadcasting her clothes. It is during World War II that her fashion sense peaks. She temporarly closes her stroes and allows her recognition to die down (100 Most Influential Women in Advertising). -
Neiman Marcus Fashion Award
Neiman Marus awarded Coco Chanel with this award because of her outstanding work and service in the fashion field. She influenced so many women around the world and she always stressed to women to always feel confident in what they were wearing (100 Most Influential Women in Advertising). Coco Chanel dies of age. Although she passed away, her brand still lived on and it still lives on up until current day. Chanel is still a well known, expensive brand that women shop at to find classy and elegant clothing.
