Early life
Coco Chanel had four siblings two sisters, Julie and Antoinette, and two brothers, Alphonse and Lucien. When she was 11 years old her mom died and her dad took her to an orphanage and abound her with two of her sisters and her brother went to a local family. -
Her job and studies
When she was 18 years old she got transferred to a religious boarding school in Notre Dame. She was in this boring school until 21 years old. She started working as a seamstress and started to learn how to make hats. She would perform in Los Angeles Rotonde, a cafe concert. -
Her first Success
She opened her first shop on Paris's Rue Cambon. She started selling hats. Later on, she opened two other stores in Deauville and Biarritz and began making clothes. Her first start of clothing success because she fashioned out a dress of an old jersey on child day. -
Her first launch
She launched her first perfume called Chanel No. 5. Also, she designs The Little Black Dress. Chanel designed that dress because each dress is imbued with the value of its day from service to independence, from restraint to temptation, from glamour to grace. -
Closing down
Coco Chanel closes down her shop, with the outbreak of The World War II. maintaining her apartment situated above the couture house at 31 Rue de Cambon. She said that it was not a time for fashion; as a result of her action, 4,000 female employees lost their jobs. -
Re-opening again
Coco Chanel reopens her shop and returns to the fashion world at the age of 71. Chanel would first receive reviews from critics, but her feminine and easy-fitting designs soon won over shoppers around the world. During her reopening, she launched a very popular 2.55 Mademoiselle handbag. -
Death
She died in her apartment at the age of 87. Her last word was “You see, this is how you die.”. After her death, hundreds of people gathered together at the church of Madeleine to remember the greatest fashion designer in history. After her death, a designer name Karl Lagerfeld, took control of her company to continue the Chanel legacy. Today her company is held privately by the Wertheimer family and continues to thrive, believed to generate hundreds of millions in sales each year.
