    John S. Pemberton created the Coca-Cola drink in 1886 at the Pemberton Chemical Company, and he sold the first glass of this drink in May 8 of 1886. He originally made it as a tonic for some common illnesses, so it was based on cocaine (from coca leaves) and caffeine (from the kola-nut). The original logo was very simple, and it was only used for one year.

    Pemberton decided to create a proper logo for the brand. He asked his bookkeeper, Frank Robinson, to create a new and better logo for Coca-Cola.
