    Wolfang Amadeus Mozart

    Mozart composed more than 600 works and is considered one of the greatest representatives of Classicism. From an early age, the young Mozart showed all the signs of prodigious musical talent. In 1781 he moved permanently to Vienna where he was often in demand as a composer and performer. In 1782 Mozart married against the wishes of his family and had 6 children. In the last year of his life, Mozart composed the opera “The Magic Flute.”

  • Piano Concerto in D minor no. 20 KV 466.

    Composed in 1785 for a flute, 2 oboes, 2 bassoons, 2 horns, 2 trumpets, timpani, violins I and II, viola, cello, double bass and pianoforte. The concerto was composed in the same key as the Requiem or Don Giovanni. It is a work endowed with great drama.
  • String Quintet in G minor KV 516.

    Composed in 1787 and known as the “viola quintet”, the formation is that of the classic quartet: 2 violins, 1 viola and 1 cello, but with one more viola. The movements are: (1) Allegro- in sonata form, (2) Menuetto: Allegretto, (3) Adagio ma non troppo, (4) Adagio –Allegro.
  • Clarinet Concerto in A major K. 622.

    Composed and dedicated to the clarinetist Anton Stadler in 1791. It is an orchestra made up of 2 flutes, 2 bassoons, 2 horns and strings. Composed in three movements: (1) Allegro – in the key of A, (2) Adagio – in the key of the subdominant, (3) Rondo – again in A.
  • Piano Sonata in C minor (Pathetic)

    composed in 1798 when Beethoven was 27 years old, and dedicated to Prince Karl von Lichnowsky. It consists of three movements (1) Grave; allegro di molto e con brio, (2) Adagio cantabile, (3) Rondo: allegro.

    Concerto for piano and orchestra no. 5 (Emperor).

    This is his last piano concerto and was dedicated to Rudolph of Austria – the composer's protector. Composed between 1809 and 1811 in Vienna. It consists of the following instrumentation: 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets in B flat, 2 bassoons, 2 trumpets, timpani (Eb-Bb) and strings. The concerto has three movements: (1) Allegro, (2) Adagio un poco mosso, (3) Rondo –Allegro ma non troppo.
