Professor at Boston University

Married Mabel Hubbard. They met at the Clarke School for the Deaf in Northampton, Massachusetts
Mabel Hubbard had become deaf at age five as a result of a near-fatal bout of scarlet fever. Mabel's mother, Gardiner Greene, was a founder of the Clarke School where Mabel attended. Mabel was one of Alexander Bell's students and worked with her when she was 15 years old. 5 years after meeting, when Mabel was 20 years old and Alexander was 30 years old the two of them were married. They had four children, Elise, Marian and two sons who died in infancy. -
