Lincoln sends USS star of west to bring supplies and weapons but then the ship gets attack and they turn around. All Union soldiers at Fort Sumter die. This begins the war. -
West Virginia Is Born.
Virginia was a Conferderacy state , but western parts of it didnt so this section became West Virginia.West Virginia was apart of the Union. -
General McDowell Is Replaced.
General McDowell Is Replaced. Lincoln replaces him with McClellean becasue the army needed organization and training. -
The First Battle of Bull Run
The Union army went to D.C. to seize a vital railroad , Confederate army goes there to wait for the Union. Union loses this first battle of the war.

The Bloody Lane of Antietam
North Virginia Army went to strike Union, but copies of the plan were dropped and Union soldiers. The Union then able to attack them before. This battle was only a day long and ended in a draw. -
Emancipation Proclamation
President Abraham Lincoln gave the speech about Emancipation Proclamation.Says that all slaves in the north are now free. They werent much slaves in the north but it gave the south hope. -
The Battle of Gettysburg
Began July 1, 1863 and Ended July 3 , 1863
Byaccident, Confederacy army found a fort of the Union army in Gettysburg. Confederacy army attacked making the largest battle in the war. Union won destorying hope of the Confederacy army to moving up north. -
Gettysburg Address
President Lincoln came to the dedication of the Soldier's National Cemetery in Gettysburg. He gave a speech which was short , but is considered one of the greatest speeches ever. It bascailly says that freedom should be for everyone. -
Sherman's March to the Sea
General Sherman went through on his way towards the Atlantic coast and up to Virginia. His army burned, tear up railroad tracks, raid, burned houses and capture the animals satrting with Atlanta.
The Union army got the confederacy out of there. -
End of the War : Surrender of the Confederate Army
The Civil War ended with the surrender of the Confederate army at the Appomattox Court House. General Lee refused to see his troop suffer more and surrender.
