Abraham Lincoln is elected to Presidency
Abraham Lincoln wins the election and recieves almost all of his votes from the north, They are against slavery and also posses the popular vote -
South Carolina
Due to uprising contraversey South Carolina sucedes from the Union. The love slavery and disagree with the North's viewpoint. -
Lincoln Inauguration
Abraham Lincoln officially becomes the president of the United States. He hopes to not only end slavery but prevent the southern secession. -
Fort Sumter
In Charleston harbor Confederate forces opened fire on the Union who were holding Fort Sumter. No one was injured or killed. -
Virginia Secedes
Virginia hops on the southern bandwagon and secedes from the Union and joins the Confederacy. They were the eigth to secede. -
Richmond Becomes Confederate Capital
Richmond Virginia becomes the Capital of the newly established Confederacy. -
Battle of Bull Run
The battle of Bull Run was fought in Virginia and is claimed to be one of the first major battles of the war. The Confederates were victorious. -
Battle of Fort Donelson
Union soldiers went towards the second fort guarding the Tennessee and Cumberland rivers. The Confederates surrendered -
Shiloh
The Union and Confederates battle over control the Shiloh church. It was a Union victory. -
Conscription
The Confederates pass the conscription act. This act was similar to the modern day military draft. -
Slavery Ends
Congress anounces slavery is prohibitted throughout all territories in the U.S. -
Antietam
This was the bloodiest single day of the Civil war. 23,000 soldiers were killed, wounded or missing. -
Emmancipation Proclamation
The Emmancipation Proclamation is finally passed by Lincoln and his congressmen. This gives slaves their well deserved freedom -
National Conscription
The conscription act is passed on a national scale. This was done to provide for the man-power needs across the country. -
Stonewall
The infamous Stonewall Jackson of the Confederacy is killed. He was killed in the Battle of Chancellorsville. -
West Virginia
The territory of West Virginia is admitted into the Union. They immeadiately go into war along with the rest of the Union. -
New York Riots
Following concerns and complaints with conscription, men in New York begin to riot. They are sick of the draft and desperately want it to come to an end. -
13th Amendment
Finally, the senate passes the highly anticiapted and dreaded 13th amendment. This amendment abolished slavery. -
Petersburg
The armies of Grant and Lee faced off for the control of Petersburg. Eventually the Union forces were able to seige it. -
Second Battle of Independance
This battle took place in Jackson county and resulted in a Confederate victory. This victory was very significant for the Confederate army. -
Two Terms
Lincoln is once again elected as the president of the U.S. He continues his fight against slavery. -
Sherman's March
Sherman destroyed everything in his path as he marched through Georgia towards the sea. During this march he inflicted 100 million dollars worth of damage. -

Lincoln is initiated into presidency once agian though his second inauguration. -
Lincoln Dies
While attending a play at the Ford's theater, Lincoln is shot in the head and dies the next day. His assassin was a man named John Wilkes Booth. -
J.W.Booth Killed
After seven long days Lincoln's assassin is finally killed in a barn fire. -
13th Amendment
The amendment to end slavery is finally ratified nation wide. This sparks major contraversy between the north and south. -

After the abolishment of slavery, many southerners are extremely unhappy. Some of them go on to establish a white supremecy group called the Klu Klux Klan.
