    Attack ordered on a Federal Column that was passing across. Jackson tried to draw Pope's army into battle. Pope launched a series of assaults against Jackson's position along an unfinished railroad grade. Attacks were back and forth. Confederate army defeats Pope's army and Pope is replaced by McClellan.

    This amendment was what the south and the north were fighting over. The passing of this amendment was a key part in determining the war. The amendment boosted morale and showed true unification. It was the first of the three amendments to reconstruct the repercussions of the Civil War.
