    Five laws were issued regading slavery and territory. This included The fugitive act and the abolishion of the slave trade. This played a role in leading to the Civil War because it increased tensions between the North and South.

    The north wasnt very fond of this law because they were being forced to be invovled with slavery. They had to by law return any fugitive Slaves

    After this book was published many people changed there views regarding slavery because it was enlightening.
  • Kansas Nebraska Act

    Kansas Nebraska Act
    It allowed people in Kansas and Nebraska decide if they wanted slavery or not.This was actually repealing the missouri compromise and created even more tensions about slavery.
  • Rise of the Republic Party

    This party emerged right after or could be called the result of the Kansas-Nebraska Act combat. This basically lead to the civil war because now people could decide what side they were on which made them more divided.

    This is reffered to as the rehearsal for th Civil War because it inciated a Slave Revolt in the southren States by taking over the united States Arsenal in Harpers Ferry, VIrginia

    He was openly opposed to Slavery and as a president many people couldnt support someone who didnt agree with them. As in; the southern states were not very fond of him being elected because he again wasnt on their side when it came to Slavery.
