  • Civil War Starts

    The war began when the Confederates bombarded Union soldiers at Fort Sumter, South Carolina on April 12, 1861.

  • Battle Of Galveston

    Took Place Jan 1st 1863, it was the bloodiest battle in the war,it was the most important Texas port, John Bankhead Magruder Col. Joseph J. Cook, William B. Renshaw were the important people in the war.The confederates won and expelled occupying Union troops from the city of Galveston. The confederates expelled the union troops from their most important Texas port. The port remained under confederate control for the remainder of the war.

  • Battle of Sabine Pass

    took place September 1863,the southernmost point of the border between Texas and Louisiana is where it happened

  • Battle of Palmito Ranch

    May, 1865
    Palmito Ranch, near Brownsville on the banks of the Rio Grande
    Since March 1865, a gentleman’s agreement precluded fighting between Union and Confederate forces on the Rio Grande.

    The confederates won.
    It was the last clash of arms in the civil war occurring even though the war was technically over.
