The South, after seceding from the North, creates its own Government. -
Lincoln's Inauguration
Abraham Lincoln is inaugurated in to office. -
Attack on Fort Sumter
Fort Sumter was to get supplies, so South Carolina went and decided to take them. When they got there, the supplies were used, so they started battle. -
President Lincoln takes Over
President Lincoln replaces Gen. McDowell with Gen. Georage B. McClellan. President Lincol also sent the Navy to the Ports of the South and made a blockade for them. -
Lincoln Takes Charge
President Lincoln places himeself in charge of the Union Army. -
Battle of Shiloh
The Confederates attacked the Union Army and the COnfederates were winning, but the Union got reinforecements and won the battle. -
Harpers Ferry and Antietam
On September 16, the Confederates took over Harpers Ferry, which gave the Confederates supplies. On September 17, at Antietam, one of the bloodiest Battles of History, had no clear winner, and afterwards, President Lincoln announced the Emancipation Proclamation, which freed all slaves in area's rebelling against the US. -
Battle of Gettysburg
On this day, the Union fought the Confederate States in Gettysburg. Gen. Lee surrendered, and the General of the Union Army failed to follow. Lincoln then turned the Battle Grounds of Gettysburg in to a cemetary and gave the Gettysburg Address. -
The Wilderness Battle
The general of the Union decided to find the Confederate Army's and end it once and for all. He met them in the Wilderness and fought for three day's straight. His plan did not work. -
Fall of the Confederacy
As the soldiers began to get hungry from the Blockades, the men began to leave the army. Lee's army began to fall. -
Assassination of Abraham Lincoln
As Lincoln was sitting in a theater, he was shot by John Wilkes Booth. He ran off to Virginia, and was shot by Union Soldiers. -
Confederacy Surrenders
The remaining confederate troops were defeated by the Union.
