1st Battle of Bull Run
This was the first formal battle of the war. This happened at Manassas, Virginia by the river Bull Run. The Union had General Irvin McDowell. Confederacy had General PGT Beauregard and Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson. Confederacy won the battle. This important because it change the views of the battle. The North thought it would be longer. South thought it would be quick. -
