Led by Union Admiral David E. Farragut. Took place in Louisiana. Farragut ed 15,000 men to capture the city. The capture was considered one of the worst confederate losses of the the entire war. -

After Union General mcclellan took month in proceeding to Richmond, Virginia, he was stopped and told to go back. Easily manipulated he retreated and Confederate General Robert E. lee decided to pursue him by splitting his army in two and meeting Mclellan in Maryland. After A long battle, Lee lost however this was not considered a “successful” victory for the North. -

Considered to be General Robert E. Lee's greatest Victory. The Northern general did not use his numerical advantage wisely and lost. the South did not win unscathed, they lost a great general who was mortally wounded, General Stonewall. -

Union General Sherman led 60,000 soldiers on an approximate 300 mile walk to savannah Georgia. They did not destroy the towns in there path however stole food and livestock. -
Siege of Petersburg
Just 24 miles from Richmond, General Grant knew this was his way in. Lee's Army suffered major defeat following the fall of Richmond to the Union. Less than one week later, Lee surrendered officially declaring the end of the Civil War.
