Southern States Form A Government
Confederate States National Anthem
Sourthern states started to become independent. The first step to do so they needed to create a government. After they left the Union they had to make a government to show the North that they were able to be by themselves. They had made their own constitution. They even had their own president. This showed that they weren't afraid of the north with their aggression. -
Battle of Fort Sumter
This event was the beginning of the civil war. President Lincoln decided to send supplies to the fort. He warned the south that he was going to to do so. The south didn't trust anything the north does so they attacked the ship with the supplies and attacked the fort as well. The attack didnt last long because they had ran out of supplies. Joining the Confederates
After the Fort Sumter Battle four more states wanted to joing the Confederate States. These states bordered the north side. They weren't on neither side of the north or south. Union Slave States
Many think that the north did not have any slaves ar all. This is not true. There was four states in the union that had slaves. These states were; Deleware, Kentucky, Maryland, and Missouri. Battle Of Bull Run

How They Lived
The people in the North live differently than people in the South. The North Had money but not a lot of it but it was developing. The South was mostly just big plantations were they farmed tabacco and cotton. Battle of the Monitor and the Merrimac

Battle of Shiloh
The South attacks the North. The South attacked the North in Shiloh Tennesse. Near the end of the day the South was winning the battle, but at night the federal troops arrived and took over the battle field. The Draft (Political)

Battle of Seven Pines
The South attacks again. They attacked the north once again and were almost winning the fight, again reinforcements came in last minute and beat the South. Showing the south not to fight the north. -
Antietam
One of the most bloodiest battles. There was no clear winner but the since the north withdrew from the battle the south took it as a win. The British and the French allowed President Lincoln to announce the Emancipation Proclamaiton which freed all the slaves. Women During the Civil War

Emancipation Proclamation
President Abraham Lincoln delivers a very important document that helps the become free. This document stated that any slave that worked in the Noth should be concidered free. Also, that all slaves of men who supported the confederates were concidered free as well. The Battle of Chancellorsville
The North Attacked the South. The North decided to attack the south and they ended up losing. They were caught by surprise by the South giving the victory. Federal troops rallied and counterattacked. The North and South both met at the Chickamauga creek. The North attcked the South by destroying the bridge. By the end of the battle the South had little effort. Food Shortage In The South
The South faced a food shortage during the Civil War. The North invaded their plantations. The South had no other choice but to get all the women to work in the plantations to keep them operating. Regardless the food production declined. -
Industries in the North

The Battle of Cold Harbor. The north attacked the south. On the second day of the battle both of the side were on the battle field. The II and XVIII corps attcked at all points of the harbor line.
