Battle at fort Sumter
Robert Anderson and his force of 85 soldiers were positioned at Fort Moultrie near the mouth of Charleston Harbor. Fearing for the safety of his men, Anderson moved his command to Fort Sumter. Confederate Brig. Gen. P.G.T. Beauregard dispatched aides to Maj. Anderson to demand the fort’s surrender. Anderson refused. The next morning Confederate batteries opened fire on Fort Sumter and continued for 34 hours. The Civil War had begun! The confederates victory. -
TX succeeds from Union
After Texas succeeded, on March 2, 1881 they joined the confederate states of America. Texas was the 7th state to succeed from the union. -

Battle of Galveston
Confederate Victory. 650 casualties of which 600 were Union soldiers. four Confederate gunboats appeared, coming down the bay toward Galveston. Soon afterward, the Rebels commenced a land attack. The Confederates captured or killed all of them except for the regiment’s adjutant. -
Battle of Gettysburg
Hooker's successor, Maj. Gen. George Gordon Meade moved northward, keeping his army between Lee and Washington, D.C. When Lee learned that Meade was in Pennsylvania, Lee concentrated his army around Gettysburg.In May 1863, Robert E. The union tried reconquering there land and failed. The union formed a blockade in the mouth of Sabine river after seeing the battle ships heading tward them. The confederated won this battle. -

The campaign held all the fights that had happened along the red river during the civil war. Hoping to take everything in the red river to take it to Texas the union never made it to Texas after taking all they had at the red river. This campaign was from March 10 to May 22. -
End of Civil War
General Edmund Kirby Smith, Commander of confederate forces west of Mississippi. Smith agrees to sign the surrender terms offered by union negotiators. With smiths surrender it brought an end to the civil war. -

This battle was fought on the banks of the Rio Grande. The battle of Palmito Ranch was jneo as the final battle of the American civil war. The battle took place on May 12 to May 13 of 1865. The union army leader ordered an attack after the faulty truce. The confederated had victory over this battle. -

Juneteenth is the holiday celebrating the ending of slavery. Juneteenth is celebrated on June 19th. -
Reconstruction ends
In the 1870's, violent opposition in the South and the North's retreat from its commitment to equality, resulted in the end of Reconstruction. After blacks were able to vote, general Ulysses S. Grant became presendent.
