Emancipation Proclamation

Abraham Lincoln declared that all people that had slaves had to be released within the Confederate ares. The South disagreed and no slaves were free.

Battle of Chancellorsville

The battle ended July 4. The battle took place in Mississippi. The Union leader was Ulysses Grant and the Confederate leader was John Pemburton. The Union won and recieved goo news after the siege attack on the Confederates.

Battle ended July 3. The battle took place in Pennsylvania. The Union leader was George Meade and the Confederate leader was Robert Lee. The Union won and were happy about their victory.

Siege of Atlanta

The battle ended September 2. The battle took place in Georgia. The Union leader was William Sherman and the Confederate leader was John B. Hood. The Union won and Sherman proved that he could be a great general for Lincoln.

Surrender at Appomattox Courthouse

The battle took place in Richmond, Virginia. The Uion leader was Ulysses Grant and the Confederate leader was Robert Lee. They both met in a meeting and talked over to end the war. They both shook hands after the meeting and Robert Lee left the court saddened.

Assassination of Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln was with his wife at the Ford's Theater watching a preformance when John Wilkes Booth entered into the presidential box and shot Abraham Lincoln in the back of the head. Abraham Lincoln later died from the bullet.

Ratification of the 13th Amendment

It declared that all slavery in the United States were to be abolished. It was passed by Congress January 31,1865 but was ratified by the started months later.
