  • Missouri Compromise

    Missouri wanted to join the Union as a slave state. The Missouri Compromise settled problems between states that were for and against slavery.
  • Battle of Fort Sumter

    Battle of Fort Sumter
    The Battle of Fort Sumter is when the Confederate States bombed Fort Sumter and the return fire, and surrender, started the Civil War. The Battle of Fort Sumter started the Civil War.
  • Battle of Antietam

    Battle of Antietam
    Gen. McClellan attacked Gen. Robert E. Lee at Antietam and led to a Union victory so Lincoln announced the Emancipation Proclamation. even though a lot of soldiers died, or were injured, in this battle it led to the freeing of slaves.
  • Lincoln's Plan

    Lincoln's Plan
    Lincoln's plan would allow them to rejoin and create new government as well as pardon Confederate leaders for crimes of war and treason. Lincoln offered a pardon to any confederate who would take an oath of allegiance to the Union.
  • Sherman's March to the Sea

    Sherman's March to the Sea
    Gen. William t. Sherman left Atlanta, and divided his command, and marched through Georgia to the Atlantic to start the end of the war. Sherman's March led to the end of the war.
  • Johnson's Plan

    The Union would be reunited and Confederate leaders had to swear allegiance to the Union. He also had a 10% plan, but it was more generous to the South. Johnson took over after Lincoln was assassinated and put his reconstruction plan into action. It was pretty much the same as Lincoln's.
