    -South left the Union and became a new one.
    -Won all of North for votes but wanted reconciliation from the people of the South.
  • Fort Sumter

    -Because Fort Sumter was located in S.C. the Confederacy side wanted the Union to leave since the Confederacy left to become its own union
    -First shots were fired by the Confederacy side once the Union surrendered that is when the Civil War began and states had to choose whether they would stay with the Union or go to the Confederacy side.
  • Battle of Bull Run

    -The Union did not win mostly because the plan was difficult for the young soldiers to follow.

    -Thomas Jackson made the Confederacy to hold back the Union eventually the Confederacy won but both sides had many casualties.
  • Battle of Antietam

    -General Robert E. Lee wanted to invade the North all the way to Pennsylvania just to prove that they can become and be a nation to France and Great Britain.

    -Abraham Lincoln used the victory of this battle to announce the Emancipation Proclamation this will be true once the Union has taken full control again over the South/Confederacy.

    -Once the Emancipation Proclamation was signed many slaves were free but not all until the Union won the war and the war finally came to an end.
    -Lincoln waited until the right time like a victory because he wanted this to be successful and not fail, many other international countries also supported this document.

  • Assassination of President Abraham Lincoln

    Assassination of President Abraham Lincoln
    -John Wilkes Booth was a Confederate supporter who shot Lincoln at the back of his head and was planing to assassinate Secretary of State and Vice President by his other fellow accomplices.
    -Lincoln shot April 14, 1865 but died April 15, 1865 the police that was supposed to guard him at the time was never there with him.
