In this battle Ulysses S. Grant made some huge mistakes and had to retreat farther south. Ulysses S. Grant made the mistake by heading right into a trap that the Confederate had planned. Battle of Sailor's Creek (Turning Point)
At the battle of Sailors Creek there were 7,700 men who were captured by the Union. The Union had surrounded the Confederate in this battle. The Union was stationed in all the neighboring towns around the area.Out of the 7,700 men who were captured, 6 of them were the Confederates generals. Robert E. Lee Surrenderes
Robert E. Lee surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant. Lee actual sent Grant a message saying that he would surrender. So Lee and Grant meet to set down the term that the Confederate would get if he surrendered his army. After that the war had ended, and the Confederate was now taken over by the Union.
