Fugitive Slave Act
This act declared that all run away slaves will be forced to go back to there owner even if they have traveled to a free state. This act will upset many people in the north and will cause i large contraversy. Many people only turned the slaves in to get the big reward of money that will be exchanged for the fugitive slave that is caught. -

Bleeding Kansas
Was a series of violent political contravercys involving anti slave states vs. slave states. This lasted 7 years between 1854 and 1861. -
Sumner vs. Preston
Charles Sumner who represents the South was in court with Preston Brooks who represented the North. Words were exchanged and the men fought. Sumner beat up Preston with his cane. This caused a big contraversy with the North and South. -
Lecompton constitution
Wass the first of 4 proposed constitutions for the state of Kansas. Was written in response to the anti slavery proposal of 1855. -
John Brown- Harpers Ferry
John Brown started an armed slave revolt that he brought into battle. He attacked Harpers Feery and seized it. The revolt was later taken out by a group of u.s marines. -
Abe Lincoln President
Abe Lincoln becomes the 16th president of the United States. He will turn out to be one of the best leaders in our countrys history. He will put an end to slavery before his term is up and will free slaves everwhere throughout the country of the United States of America. -
