General Robert E. Lee begins his second invasion on the north. He took 75,000 men, and this battle lead to the battle of Gettysburgh. -
cold harbor
at the battle of cold harbor general Ulysses S. Grant of the union makes a mistake that results in 7,000 union casualties. these men were either killed or severly wounded in just 20 minutes, and it took place in Virginia. -
thirteenth amendment
the thirteenth amendment had taken place at the end of january. congress aproved it and the amendment was sent to be ratified. -

the thirteenth amendment was officialy passed at the end of the year, completly abolishing slavery in the united states. a parade was held in honor to celebrate. it took place in Washington on Pennslyvania avenue.
