President of the United States
Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States. He got elected in the year of 1860, on November 6th. He was one of the presidents that doesn't like slavery, so he tried to ban it, but eventually the sourthern states seceded from the union. It led to an event called the civil war. -
South Carolina Secedes
The people down South wanted slavery. South carolina was the first Southern state to secedes from the union.Mississppi was the second state to secede from the union. The people thought slavery is “the greatest material interest of the world.” The next day when Mississippi seceded from the union, Florida seceded also. Florida was the third state to secede in the United States, The day after was Alabma. Eight days later Georgia did, then texas seceded on Febuary 1st of that year. -
Licnoln calls for 75,000 militamen
Abraham Lincoln calls 75,000 militamen from Virginia, to put down the southern rebellion. For 90 days, the North and South both expected a short, successful War. Virgina secedes from the union followed by Arkansas, Tenessee, and North Carolina. -
Bull of Run
Manassas was the first battle outside of Washington D.C. It was called the Bull of Run. It occured on July 21st of the year of 1861. A lot of men marched from Washington and Richmen and they met in Manassas. -
USS Star of the West on Charleston Harbor
The Star of the West is an civilian (a person who is not on active duty with a military, naval, police, or fire fighting organization.) steamship. Artillery fires on the Star of the West from Morris Island as it crosses into the main entrance channel to Charleston Harbor. As the ship comes about, Fort Moultrie opens fire, also with cannon shot. A mile and a half from Fort Sumter, the ship withdraws. -

The confederates and the union soldiers met in the battle field south in Kentucky. -
Roanoke Island
The union soldiers tak Roanoke Island.The battle took place at sea and on the beach in Roanoke Island. About 100 ships were there a lot of people fought in the war. -
Lee Takes Command
General Lee took command of the confederate army. On June 26th he had a war against union army at Mechanicsville. -
Stonewall Jaskson
Stonewall Jackson of pneumonia after a week his own troops fired on him during the battle of Chancellorsville in Virginia. -
Gettysburg
The battle of Gettysburg was a 3 day war. It started on the first of July and ended on the third. It happened in the state of Pennsylavania. Union Maj. Gen. George Gordon Meade's Army of the Potomac defeated attacks by Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia, ending Lee's invasion of the North. -

The battle of Wilderness was a 2 day war. It started on May 5th-6th. It started because It started because General Grant had the goal and took violent action to reach and occupy Richmond, the Confederate capital. General Lee and his troops battled to protect the town, in order to save the Confederacy. -
Battle of New Hope
The Battle of New Hope Church started on the 25 of May, of the year of 1864. The war ended on the 27th. It was between the Union force of Major General William T. Sherman and the Confederate Army of Tennessee under Gen. Joseph E. Johnston during the Atlanta Campaign of the American Civil War. -

President Licoln got re-elected for President of the United States. -
Assassination
President Licoln got shot at Ford's theater. He got assisnated by John Wilkes Booth. President Abrahman Lincoln died on the 15th. His assassin got trapped and killed on the 26th of that month. Now that President Abraham Lincoln got shot, the towns starts to surrender.
