The president ordered US troops to escort james meridith to attend Ole Miss university or else an angry mob was going to attack him. The significance of this was that this was another time the president had to directly intervine with the situation. -

He was a civil rights activist, that helped james meridith get into Ole Miss. He was important because he helped martin luther king in his freedom walks and wanted change for blacks. -

Martin Luther King led a march to the mall of washington DC to tell a speech about the passage of a civil rights bill. This was one of the main events the caused president kennedy to sign the act in 1964. -

This was an event where hundreds of black college students were encouraging blacks to vote during the upcoming election. This happened beacuse now that black people have that right they want to make sure they use it. -

this happened when 3 freedom summer worker were kidnapped and president johnson had a huge man hunt to look for these workers. The importance of this event was that whites were sttill harassing black that wanted to vote. -

Lyndon B johnson further to the civil rights act passed by kennedy and said he discrimination and segreagation will not be allowed anywhere for employment or public places. Significance of this will cause groups like the kkk to harass black and killing them. -

riots erupted in los Angelas when a policeman arrested a black man and then rioted burned buildings robbed building and destroying the city. these rioter caused 40 million dollars in damage to the city. -

This was a group of blacks who believed violence was the way to go to get liberation for blacks. Significance was that the was the complete opposite of what MLK wanted because these people wanted to see change happen now. -

he was shot on a balcony of an memphis motel by james earl ray. the significance is that black people started rioting and a lot of people lost hope in what was going to happen. -

This court case furthered brown vs board of education now making sure all schools follow this fedral law. The significance is that schools now had to let all students no matter the race into there school.
