    This case showed people of african decent aren't citizens. Congress also at this time said that they lack power to ban slavery. Free states and slave states stay unbalanced.

    The 13th amendment abolished slavery in the u.s. Although slavery was abolished, it abolished only 11 of the confederate states.

    It protected the free slaves rights. This amendment is important for the rights of citizens, due process, and requirements of the states
