    Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus to a white man.

    Desegregation of Central High in Little Rock, Arkansas
    The Little Rock Nine were a group of nine students that wanted to go to school at Central High, the students were first prevented from going to the racially segregated school. They eventually had to be escorted by US Marshall's sent by the President.

    Four African American college students come in and sit down at a lunch table and refuse to leave until they are served.
  • CORE freedom ride

    CORE freedom ride
    seven blacks and six whites left Washington,D.C., on two public busses. They were going to New Orleans, Lousiana. Along the way they got attacked more than once and only made it to Montgomery and they all got arresdted.

    African Americans were now allowed to exercise their amendment and ability to vote. The 15th amendment allows Americans to vote.

    He was a Baptist Minister and an activist. He became very known for his "I Have A Dream" speech.
