    Birmingham Alabama was a big city in Alabama. There was alot of violence in this city, but however it was one of the most industrial cities. It foucsed on railroad transportation and mining.
  • Wilmington Riots

    The Wilmington Roits was a very violent riot. It was lead by whites who were trying to take over the city of Brooklyn. This all happened in Wilmington North Carolina. The result was the whites tookover the city of brooklyn and ruled the blacks.
  • Brown vs. Board of Education

    Brown vs. Board of Education
    Brown vs. The Board of Education was about integrated schools in 1954. Brown who went to this schools in Topeka, Kansas and fought for the blacks. It started with him not agreeing with blacks not being able to get the same education as whites. So he went o n to protest about the situation. Advenually he won and changed the school system for the blacks.

    Martin Luther King Jr. led the Montgomery Bus Boycott in 1955. It happened in Montgomery, Alabama. This boycott happened because of an african american women named Rosa Parks who would not give up her seat to a white man. They arrested her and Martin Luther King Jr. didn't agree with this arrest of Rosa Parks.

    The Civil Rights Act of 1964 in the month of July in 1964. The Act happened in the South. It was a non-violent act. The congress lead the Civil Rights Act. It prohibited discriminaton against african americans in voting and public accomendations.

    Greensboro sit-in
    It happened on April,1960 in Greensboro North Carolina. The purpose was to inforce to let blacks eat at a counter in the resturant. The leader was Woolwerth. The result was letting blacks sit at a lunch counter after the place changed it's policies.
