birmhingham 1963The Little Rock Nine took place in Kansas in 1957 when 9 african american students were allowed to attend white schools, but were turned away and not wanted there. By inforcing the law they made it possible for African Americans to attend public white schools. -
Greensboro sit-in
The Greensboro sit-in was not a violent protest, the leaders were Martin Luther King and 4 other young african american men. Contributing to the 13th admendment . This led to more sit-ins and allowed african americans to sit freely where they wanted and get the same type of service as the whites. -
Freedom Riders
ON May 4, 1961 it started at Washington DC, it was a nonviolent protest that James Merideth , Ross Barnett, President Kennedy, Govenor George Wallace all contributed to as leaders the method was the 13th admendment, the were trying to stop intergration in Universitys. It traveled to many places other then Washington DC, like Jackson, Missisippi, Alabama, Birmingham and Montgomory. -
