    In 1957 a judge ordered an all-white school, Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansa, to let African Americans go to the school.

    Brown vs. Board of Education Ruling
    Linda Brown went to court to with Thurgood Marshall to get the judge to have "seperate but equal" schools. They went against the Board of Education and the judge said yes. Now black kids and white kids can go to school together.
  • Rosa Parks Boards A Bus

    On December 1st, Rosa Parks boards a bus. After a few blocks, a white man boards the bus. There was no more room left in the front of the bus. The white man told Rosa Parks to go in the back but Rosa said no. Rosa Parks was later arrested but she later started a bus boycott.

    James Meredith became the first black student to enroll at the University of Mississippi
    President Kennedy sent 5,000 federal troops to contain the violence and riots surrounding the incident. James Meredith joins a all white school.
