Jim Crow Laws
They forced segregation between the white and black like using transport and public facilities and in the outlawing of marriage between the two racial groups. so this is called Jim Crow Laws -
First year with no lynching
This was the first year since 1881 without someone murdering someone by hanging them. -
The Brown Decision
Mr. Brown, with the help of NAACP, took the Topeka Board of Education to court because his daughter travelled miles to go to school and she was not allowed. They won the case and segregation in education was illegal, but the law was still ignored. -
Bus Boycott
Rosa Parkes, a black old woman who sat in the bus came from work tired, she didn’t want to give her seat to a white person. So she got arrested. -
Little Rock, Arkansas
9 black students tried to break in to Little Rock Central High School, but they stop them from going in. The President Eisenhower sent 1000 paratroopers to protect black students on their way to school. -
