  • Greensboro Four

    4 college students sat in the whites only lunch counter and when they were refused service and asked to leave they sat there until closing. The next day they brought 20 more students.
  • Birmingham

    MLK Jr. and SCLC launched a campaign to stop the city's segregation. They had sit ins, economic boycotts, protests, and marches. MLK got arrested during this time for protesting.
  • Gulf of Tonkin

    The USS Maddox was on patrol in north Vietnam when three torpedo boats attacked the Maddox
  • Civil Rights Act

    Lyndon B. Johnson signed the civil rights act into law which lets the government prevent racial discrimination in voting, employment, and use of public spaces.
  • Battle of la Drang Valley

    First major battle between the U.S and Vietnam.
  • Black Panther Party

    After Malcolm X death a party was founded to protect African american neighborhoods from police brutality.
  • MLK Assassinated

    While standing on his hotel balcony he was shot with a sniper and killed. He was leading nonviolent strike for the cities sanitation worker. His death led to hundreds of riots.
  • Battle of Khe Sanh

    U.S established a base in Khe Sanh the marines tried attacking but 15,000-20,000 soldiers quickly surrounded the base. After a few months the Americans abandoned the base all together.
  • Tet Offensive

    It was a series of attacks on multiple cities in south Vietnam killing 45,000 Vietnam soldiers.
  • Cambodia Joins

    After years of staying neutral Cambodia began attacking Vietnam bases in the country.
