Jackie robinson
Jackie Robinson: On April 15, 1947, Jackie Robinson became the first African-American to play in the major leagues. He played his first game with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Branch Rickey, who was determined to end the unwritten segregation rule in the majors recruited Robinson. This was so significant because after that more and more african americans joined the major league. Also a lot of people gain respect for african americans and saw that they were talented. -

Rosa parks
Rosa parks refused to give up her seat on a bus to make room for white passengers when the bus driver ordered her to. The driver had her arrested and she was convicted of violating Montgomery's Jim Crow segregation laws. It was significant because Rosa Parks sparked the country's civil rights movement by refusing to give up her seat to a white man on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama. However Rosa Parks was arrested and fined for violating segregation laws. This event led to the bus boycott. -
Montgomery bus boycott
Montgomery bus boycott: this famous protest was one of the largest demonstration of the issue over seat segregation. African Americans in Montgomery, Alabama refused to ride any bus for one full year. This was effective, because it show how African Americans play a huge role on keeping society together. Also has a huge say so which lead the US Supreme Courts to ruled that segregation on public bus transportation is unconstitutional. -

Little Rock 9: Down in Little Rock, Arkansas there’s was this law passed where they Allowed this school to be all white at 100%. But there was 9 colored students who came to the school who started this crisi upon how did this event occur. The choice they made ended the segregation in public schools is unconstitutional. Also they proved through the tough time they had at the school they didn’t capitulate. -
The freedom ride
The freedom ride was when a group of civil rights activists rode interstate buses into the segregated southern United States in 1961. It was ruled unconstitutional for the buses to be segregated but even tho they were, the government ignored it. Some of the buses were attacked.This was very significant because it shows how much racist people cared about segregation and how dangerous it was for African Americans. This also played a part on ending segregation. -
Martin Luther King Jr
"I Have a Dream" is a speech delivered by Martin Luther King Jr. In the speech he addresses racism in the United States and called for civil and economic rights. MLK also gave this speech to motivate his followers to continue to boycott, protest, until they were granted full equality and privileges. This was significant because Martin Luther King was a leader in the Civil Rights Movement, and this gave him the drive to get more equal treatment for all Americans, not just white Americans. -
24th Admendment
24th Amendment:This played a good role to the black community, because this help blacks get the rights to vote. Another good thing was they not just got the right to vote but they got the right to vote for people who can help end slavery. This was useful because it gave citizens the chance to have the right to vote on any tax. This amendment help citizens of each race move toward equality -
Voting rights act
This helped blacks get their voting rights statewide with no restrictions or barriers. Also this act was conduct under the 15th amendment and now has more meaning to it to the society. It’s successful because it’s gave all rights to anything walking rights to vote if you could no matter what color you were. Blacks needed lead way like this to get their voices out and heard from higher level of authority. More bright of a path blacks felt they had towards freedom after this act was motion granted -
Black panthers
Huey Newton and Bobby Seale was the two man who came up with the group called “Black Panther Party”. This group original idea was more patrolling of Neighborhoods to protect blacks from police brutality. But this group made some progress and got involved in the world and started colliding with bigger black movements. It’s success help our country see that blacks can do the same as everyone and that blacks are not different they just unique. Help start other groups of positive reasoning.
