Seamstress and activist Rosa Parks was arrested after refusing to give up her seat in a segregated city bus.

Established as a response to the Montgomery Bus Boycott, their target was to desegregate public transportation/facilities. It was formed by several Black ministers, one of whom we may know as Martin Luther King Jr.

Nine Black students attempted to integrate into an all-white school in Little Rock, Arkansas after a Supreme Court ruling. They are blocked by an angry mob of protesters and are later then escorted by federal troops by their side.

Texan Congresswoman, Barbara Jordan becomes the first black woman to ever deliver a keynote address at the Democratic National Convention. She delivered a very powerful and historic speech, she called for unity and equal rights.

White man sues University Of California claiming he was a victim of reverse racism after being denied twice, even with higher test scores than minorities who were admitted. The Supreme Court ruled it unconstitutional for college admissions to use racial "quotas" but they still may admit minorities with a certain limit.
