    Brown vs The Topeka Board of Education

    A little girl wanted to go to the school closer to her but it was an all-white school. She and her father went to court over it and in the end, she was able to go to the school instead of having to walk across town to the all-black school.

    The Montgomery Bus Boycott

    In Montgomery, Alabama African Americans boycotted city buses to protest against segregation. Forced Montgomery to integrate and the young protest leader, Martin Luther King JR. rose as a leader.

    Martin Luther King JR. delivered a speech to a huge group of civil rights protesters in Washington, DC. This brought attention to the government to take more action for civil rights.

    An American boat was "attacked" in the Gulf of Tolkien. Congress did not agree to go to war but gave President Eisenhower the power to use any tactic to protect American soldiers' lives. He could go to war without having to declare war.
