Emmett Till Murder
14-year-old African-American boy from Chicago who was staying with family in Money, Mississippi. Till whistled at a white woman (talked "fresh" to the woman). The woman's husband, Roy Bryant and J.W. Milam, murdered Till and threw in his body in the Tallahatchie River. His mother insisted on an open-casket funeral. She said she wanted the world to see what they had done to her boy.
