Bus Boycotts
Rosa Parks was told that she needed to give up her seat on the bus for a white man. In the south, this was the costum and when she refused to go along with it, she was arrested. This began the Bus Boycotts. A protest by black Americans. They had a peaceful protest and announced that if you will not comply with being non-violent, they should not join the protest. Little Rock Nine

In Little Rock, Ark. Central High School begins to intergrate. They send 9 Black students, known as the Little Rock Nine to Central High School. The first day they went to shool a mob blocked them from entering. Day after day this would happen. James Meredith was the first African American studet excepted into the University of Mississippi. This caused an uproar of Violence and riots which caused Kennedy to send in 5,000 troops -
Children's March
The children skipped to school to March in downtoan Bermingham to support the civil rights movement. On Day 1, 973 children were arrested. On day 2, 1922 children were arrested, and the group of protesters were sprayed with fire hoses. On the third day, 4,163 children were arrested and the protesters were attacked by dogs and sprayed with hoses. -
Civil Rights Act of 1968
President Johnson signs the Civil Rights Act of 1968. This act states that it is prohibited to discriminatec in the sale, rental, an financing of a house.
