    Plessy tried to sit in the white car of the train. He was asked to move since he is 1/8 black. He refused and claimed the cars were seperate but not equal.

    Brown v. Board of Education
    Brown arrgued that having seperate schools for blacks and white was unconstitutional. The court ruled in his favor citing a violation of the 14th amendment's Equal Protection Clause.

    Emmett Till Murder
    Emmett Till was killed after he was talking to a white girl while on a tirp from Chicago. His mother protested what happened to Emmett by holding an open-casket funeral.

    After Rosa Parks was arressted for sitting in the white section of the public bus, the black population of Montgomery stopped using the Public transportations completely.
  • Little Rock School Integration

    Little Rock School Integration
    Black students were allowed into a public school for the first time. They were threatened and almost killed. The National Guard was called in to walk them to school and protect them from the angry white public.
