The Supreme Court says that segregation in public schools is unconstitutional. It says that separate IS NOT equal. This ruling opens the way to stop all forms of segregation. -
Montgomery Bus Boycott
Rosa Parks sat in the white-only part of a city bus. police arrested her. This began a boycott , where blacks walked rather than rise the bus, that lasted for over a year. After a year, the buses were desegregated.
