  • The right to vote for black people.

    The right to vote for black people.
    Up until the 1870's, black people were not allowed to vote. this is because white people thought that they did not have equal rights or were not equal to them. The first black man the vote was Thomas Mundy Peterson. Black women were not able to vote because they thought women were worthless. the first black woman to vote was Mary Church Terrell.
  • Brown v. Board of Education

    Brown v. Board of Education
    "the Supreme Court ruled that separating children in public schools on the basis of race was unconstitutional." One can infer from this passage that the Brown v. Board of Education was people fighting for them and there kids rights to go to school with other races then just theirs. The Brown v. Board of Education was basicly black people going against the Board of Edcation saying that all the kids and themselves get to be treated equal and get to go to school with the other kids.

This quote can infer that Johnson administration whanted to do somthing to Vietnam and that is what lead to the Vietnam war that when from November 1, 1955 to April 30, 1975.

    The Montgomery Bus Boycott was a boycot were many African American people refused to go on a public bus because Rosa Parks had to give up her seat to a white man, she refused and was arrested and was in there for a couple of hours until she was released. The Montgomery Bus Boycott lasted for 13 months. They used bikes and walked to different places instead of using the bus or any public transportation. There was millions of people on the streets saying that they deserve to sit were they want to.

    Emergence of the Little Rock Nine
    The Emergence of the Little Rock Ninethe was 9 highschool kids who whent and attended to a all white school. they were the first African American students to enter Little Rock's Central High School. White moms and ads lined up outside of the school screaming death threats at them and saying horrible things, they just ignored and walked in. They never looked back and were proub of themselves and others for doing this and years later, it helped a lot with segreagation and removing it.
  • Ruby Bridges Gose to a all White School

    Ruby Bridges Gose to a all White School
    Ruby Bridges was the first black girl to go to a all white school, She whent there because they were de-segregating schools and she was the first to go in. Many white people protested outside with death threats and other horrible things to be saying toa child. She had a white teacher who loved and accsepted her for who she was and she helped a lot with making schools and other places not segregated. When she walked into school every day she had body gaurds to help her. She was great and still is
  • March on Washington

    March on Washington
    "a quarter of a million people rallied in Washington, D.C. to demand an end to segregation, fair wages and economic justice, voting rights, education, and long overdue civil rights protections." The March on Washington was a act to defeat horrible rules and laws such as segragaion and bad pay and not being able to have a job because of race or religon. It was like a boycot but not exacly.
  • JFK assasination

    November 22, 1963, Parkland Health, Dallas, TX, John F. Kennedy died from a shooting assasination, Jack Ruby, a local nightclub owner was the one to kill this great figure. Oswald died two hours later at Parkland Hospital.

    "fueled an idealistic Utopian vision for world peace, love and anti-materialism." People mainly in the San Francisco area peacefully protested the Vietnam War by embracing love, peace, and music. In a Google search i found "the more mind-bending and psychedelic the better" Witch shows that they did some some crazy things to explore love and peace.

    Muhammad Ali Refuses to fight in the Vietnam War
    "Prior to his match against Foley, Ali received news he had been drafted to fight in Vietnam. When Ali arrived to be inducted in the United States Armed Forces, however, he refused, citing his religion forbade him from serving." Muhammad Ali refused to go into the Vietnam War because as he states in the text, it was against his religion. He was drafted because all men and woman were put in and almost all were drafted witch means that they had to fight any war, if you say no it is arrest.

    On April 6 1968, 17 year old Bobby Hutton who was the very first person to come into the to Oakland's Black Panther Party, was shot many times after he'd surrendered to the police. He waskilled sence the goverment and many others thought that the Black Panthers were a threat when they only wanted to help black people.

    James Brown wrote the song Say it Loud, I’m Black and I am Proud because it stood for black empowerment and self-reliance, He belived that black people should have the same rights and inpoerment as white people. He was a very strong man and he did many great things in his carrer

    Once being the vice president of John F. Kennedy, When the beloved president was tragicly assasinated, He was announced the official 36th president of the U.S.A, During his presidence, he ending poverty, reducing crime, abolishing inequality and improved the environment. He was a great president and he was for 6 years.
  • End of Vietnam War

    "Having rebuilt their forces and upgraded their logistics system, North Vietnamese forces triggered a major offensive in the Central Highlands in March 1975. On April 30, 1975, NVA tanks rolled through the gate of the Presidential Palace in Saigon, effectively ending the war." This text from Google tells that when the war started, they have had there forces downed somtime while the war was going on still, also that they used as eather a threat or affectivly killing or ambushing.

    In 1986 a space shuttle were headed to studdy Haileys Commit. Due to a faulty part. The intire shuttle exploded and there was no survivors. One of the astronauts was Sally Ride who was a childrens book author and physics teacher. She was going to be the first tacher to ever go to space. This was a huge tradgity in the U.S.
