    Consolidation of five cases in one, the supreme court ruled that separate but equal could never be equal. This ended public school segregation. Thurgood Marshal was appointed attorney for the plaintiffs.
  • Rosa Parks doesn't give up her seat

    Rosa Parks doesn't give up her seat

    In an Alabama bus, Rosa Parks does not give her seat to a white man. This action results in a bus boycott.
  • Little Rock Nine

    Little Rock Nine

    Nine black children are denied entry to Little Rock Central High School in Arkansas, therefore Eisenhower sent federal personnel to escort the students in.
  • March on Washington

    March on Washington

    Biggest political gathering for rights in the U.S. Estimated 300,000 participants marched for better jobs and freedom. Martin Luther King did him "I have a Dream Speech."
