in 1954 Rev Brown was finally able to send his black child to an all white school. Rev brown fought for the right to send his child to an all white school he later won that right and his child went to school with all of the white children. -
Rosa Parks
in 1955 Rosa Parks got on the bus and sat in a seat and later on a white guy got on the bus and told her to move and she refused which then caused a bus boycott. Rosa parks got arrested that day for not giving up her seat for the white man. -
Emmett tills murder
Emmett till was a 14 year old boy who lived in Chicago but he was in Money, Mississippi visiting his uncle when he allegedly had an interaction with a white woman in a small grocery store and it violated the Mississippi culture and the womans husband and his half brother brutally murdered Emmet by repeatedly beating him and then shot him in the head and sinking his body in the Tallahatchie River they discovered his body 3 days after. -
nine black students went to white school
in 1957 9 black students went to an all white school in little rock, Kansas. they had military protection while they were there since whites weren't to fond of the blacks. they didn't want them getting assaulted by any of the white students. -
'i have a dream' speech
after compaigns of restuarant sit ins, bloody civil rights marches, and free interstate bus rides people marched down to the liconln memorial to see Martin Luther King Jr's i have a dream speech. it inspired so many people especially black people. -
Birmingham campaign
the campaign used a variety of nonviolent methods of confrontation at sit-ins, kneel-ins at local churches, and the march to the county building to mark the beginning of a drive to register voters the city obtained an injuction barring all protests. -
March On Washington
the march was held on August, 28 1963 it had 6 goals which were

the right to vote

outlawed segregation in schools public places and jobs
the civil rights act outlawed segregation in schools and other public places which means anybody can go to those places including blacks without them getting arrested or getting yelled at although people still might insult them or even assault them. but its not illegal for blacks to go in to public places now. -
voting rights
in 1965 the voting rights act was created and made it to where black people were able to vote for the same things that white people were. like for being able to vote for presidents and different rights -
fair housing act
the fair housing act of 1968 banned discrimination in housing so basically blacks can now live in the same neighborhood as whites and apartments and any kind of housing.
