  • Rosa Parks Arrest

    A planned protest, Parks refused to give up her seat. She peacefully protested, using the tactic of boycott, which is refusing to obey uncivil laws. Rosa Parks was arrested due to “illegal” actions.
  • Montgomery Bus Boycott

    People were willing to walk to work instead of riding a segregated bus. Money was loss, thus busses were integrated because of loss of business.
  • Little Rock Nine

    A group of nine African Americans joined Little Rich Nine High School, and they were highly discriminated because of this. As a result, some of these students were abusively, racially, baned at.
  • March on Washington

    A nationwide event that many citizens joined to protest for equal rights. Overall, job treatment and discriminatory acts were well expressed of how Americans feeled.
  • Congress passed Civil Rights Act

    Civil rights act which stated that no one can be discriminated
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Assasinated

    James Earl Ray killed MLK at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tn.
