  • Brown vs. Board of Education

    In several states there were lawsuits against school districts to let African American parents enroll their children into white schools. But it wasn’t until Oliver Brown filed a law suit against the Topeka Kansas board of education so things would change in public schools. Brown vs. Board of Education ended segregation in Public schools.
  • Rosa Parks

    Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus to a white man which lead her to get arrested. Her arrest outraged many African Americans that then lead to the year long Montgomery Bus Boycott.
  • Little Rock Nine

    The federal government wanted to proceed and uphold the African American civil right so they sent nine African American students to desegregate Little Rock Central Highschool in Arkansas.
  • I Have A Dream

    Over 200,000 people participate in the Washington D.C. March for Civil Rights while Martin Luther King Jr gives his lengendary “I Have A Dream” speech.
  • Civil rights act

    President Johnson signed the Civil Rights right that ends discrimination in employment , voting , and education.
  • Assassination of Martin Luther King Jr

    Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee by James Earl Ray. His death was honered by many people and many of them held riots.
